The New York State Health Department is warning of a possible Legionella Bacteria exposure at Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel, located at 16 N Franklin St, Watkins Glen, NY 14891.
According to the Health Department the exposure would have occurred between July 16 and August 1 of 2018, likely in the pool or spa areas of the hotel. Exposure to Legionella bacteria can lead to Legionnaires’ disease.
The hotel has been notified of the exposure and the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta is involved in the investigation.

Officials say individuals who were guests at the hotel between July 16 and August 1, 2018 and were in proximity to the hotel’s pool and spa may have been exposed to the bacteria.
The department is currently working with the hotel to reach guests who were on site during the potential exposure.
Legionella bacteria can cause a serious type of pneumonia called Legionnaires’ disease. The bacteria can also cause a less serious illness called Pontiac fever.
